Food grade tapioca starch for texture, body and stability
Tapioca starch is neutral in taste, bright in colour and clean on the label, which makes it the default thickener where flavour must come through untouched. Cold-soluble pregelatinized grades let instant products build texture with hot water alone, and modified grades survive retort, freeze-thaw and acidic systems.
The challenge
What food & beverage manufacturers ask us to solve
Texture collapse during processing
Shear, low pH and retort break down weaker starches, leaving thin, watery products at the end of the line.
Clean label pressure
Buyers want recognisable, plant-derived ingredients without chemical-sounding declarations.
Instant products that need no cooking
Powdered mixes must build viscosity in the cup with hot water and nothing else.
Our solution
How PREGEL WORLD responds
We select the starch family against your process curve — native for straightforward cooked systems, modified where stability through retort or freezing is essential, and pregelatinized for instant and no-cook formats — and validate the texture with pilot batches before the specification is fixed.
Neutral taste and bright white appearance
Naturally gluten free and non-GMO cassava origin
Instant viscosity with cold-soluble grades
Freeze-thaw and retort stability in modified grades

Questions
Food & Beverage starch — common questions
Is your tapioca starch gluten free?
Tapioca starch is derived from cassava root and is naturally gluten free. Food grade material is produced on a dedicated line and released against a documented specification.
Which grade suits instant powders?
Pregelatinized tapioca starch, because it is already cooked and dried and therefore thickens on contact with water without any further heating.
What food safety documentation is supplied?
Every shipment carries a technical data sheet, certificate of analysis, MSDS and the relevant ISO and KOSHER certificates, plus full export documentation.
